Mentor Training Day.

Successful day Monday of mentor training with the team. “If we only concern ourselves with effectiveness, we take on smaller & smaller tasks that are achievable & measurable. If we want to see big things, we need to concern ourselves with faithfulness. Are we being faithful to our call?” – Rick Lewis ‪#‎YouthforChrist‬ ‪#‎StocktonParishChurch‬ ‪#‎TeamCentralStockton‬ ‪#‎MentoringProgram‬

OCTOBER… You’ve been brilliant. Here’s our top 10:
1. YOUTH RETREAT: “Not of this World” theme {1 Peter 2:11-12} … Brian’s message was based on Thor & Morgan’s was inspired by Man of Steel. It was a fantastic weekend of fun, food, and fellowship!
2. MISSION WEEK: Youth for Christ took advantage of the half-term break and we got to serve in our local communities together. Brian was on the Thornaby sports team, and Morgan was on Thornaby core team. We were able to keep kids off the streets by feeding them lunch, playing sport in the park, and working on crafts together.
3. MAKE IT GLORIOUS: We had a media team drive all the way up from Kent, England to do an on camera interview with us about who we are and what we have the privilege to do here in Stockton. {Additionally, we will be speaking at their summer conference and we could not be more excited}!!!
4. DISCIPLESHIP: One-on-one’s and group sessions have been going excellently. Over the last month, we have taken a handful of our girls to a nice dinner, a few of our guys to lunch, and have meet several of our young ladies for coffee. Furthermore, we have had the opportunity to take our entire youth group bowling, which was super fun!
5. GIRL’S GROUP: Morgan & team started a new apologetics study with their girls called “Big Questions.” {It’s been an extremely encouraging study so far}!
6. SUNDAY MORNINGS: Last month we kicked off our “Epic Series” and October covered teachings on Abraham, Isaac, and Moses + 1st episode of The Bible Series.
7. YFC MENTORING: A new school year means new kiddos and it’s been a blessing to start meeting with them every week.
8. HOMELAND: Morgan was stateside for a bit to celebrate her best friend, Casey, on her wedding day! {The wedding & Casey were both spectacular}.
9. REFRESH: Brian led worship at a youth worship event, called Refresh, where young people gather from all over Stockton each month.
10. GRAD SCHOOL: Morgan finished another 8 week term of seminary!! Woohoo! …A couple more semesters left!!!
…Welcome to NOVEMBER!

Every Tribe, Tongue, & Nation

Stockton Parish Church held a small prayer & worship service tonight and gathered together was a family of people from England, Scotland, America, Albania, Malawi, Zimbabwe, and Iran singing “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty!” I couldn’t help but smile as it felt like a little glimpse of what Heaven will be like. What a day that will be! “After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.” Revelation 7:9

Bowling Social!

A couple months ago, we started going through the Bible with our youth. On the day we covered Abraham, we also took our kiddos to KFC for lunch, and then joined another youth group for an afternoon of bowling! To cap off the night, SPC hosted an extraordinary evening of prayer & worship.  We are ever so thankful to be youth workers and to get to do life with these young people. It is truly a privileged position.

Monday Mornings.

Though the 40+ American YFC workers here are serving in different areas across the Tees Valley, we have the privilege of coming together as a team once a week. It is always a blessing and an encouragement to seek God as one unit. On the projector screen, you can see a power point presentation that Brian put together at the request of a few colleagues, inquiring to know more about the sport of “rugger.” Post-meeting, Brian successfully taught a bunch of “football-loving” Statesiders about the game of Rugby, whilst the Scottish (huge Rugby nation) pastor of the host church listened in amusement.  ‪#‎LoveourYFCfamily‬ ‪#‎LoveMondays‬ ‪#‎TVYFC‬ ‪#‎England‬
